The Air and Water Police Corps Reveals 655 Cases During 2021, Saves State Assets Of IDR 1 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Air and Water Police Corps (Korpolairud) of Police Security Guard Agency (Baharkam Polri) managed to uncover 655 cases during 2021. From the disclosure of these cases, state assets that were saved reached IDR 1 trillion.

"From the disclosure of this case, the ranks of Korpolairud were able to save the state's wealth of up to IDR 1 trillion", said Director of the Marine Police, Brigadier General Yasin Kosasih, to reporters on December 31.

Hundreds of cases were divided into two. The first cases were handled by the Ditpolair Police Headquarters as many as 519 cases and the rest were handled by the Ditpolair Polda throughout Indonesia.

"The number of disclosures of criminal acts during 2021 is quite fantastic. We handled 655 criminal cases", said Yasin.

In addition, of the hundreds of cases, four of the most prominent were catching foreign fishing vessels, explosives, narcotics, and smuggling of lobster seeds.

For fishing boats, 9 vessels from Vietnam and Malaysia have been secured throughout 2021. In that case, around 75 people who are crew members (ABK) were arrested. It is currently under the handling of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

"It is also a prominent case because it occurred in the North Natuna Sea region", said Yasin

Another prominent case is the smuggling of lobster seeds. It was recorded that 122,100 lobster seeds were smuggled or valued at around IDR 33.6 billion.

"The smuggling of lobster seeds or baby lobster is a crime that is an enemy of the state", said Yasin.
