Good News For High School Students In Bengkulu, Starting January 1, 2022 SPP Free

JAKARTA - Students from high school (SMA) and equivalent schools in Bengkulu Province starting January 1, 2022, do not need to pay tuition assistance contributions (SPP).

"Starting early 2022, all SMA/SMK/SLB in Bengkulu Province will provide free tuition fees," said Head of the Bengkulu Province Education and Culture Office, Eri Yulian Hidayat, in Bengkulu, Friday.

Eri said that the Bengkulu Province Education and Culture Office had sent circulars to all high schools, vocational high schools (SMK), and special schools regarding the implementation of the policy.

He explained that the SPP exemption was applied from the even semester so that students who had not paid the SPP the previous semester had to continue to pay the fee. After the provincial government made the tuition free, he continued, the funds to finance school construction and repairs would be taken from the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) for education and funds to pay honorary teachers will be allocated in the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

"And optimizing (utilization) of school operational assistance funds," he added.
