Call The Lili Pintauli Case Completed In The Hands Of The Council, KPK Commissioner: Please Watch Us, Help Us

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata said that his colleague, Lili Pintauli Siregar's alleged violation of ethics in connection with the litigation party, the former Mayor of Tanjungbalai, M Syahrial, had been completed. Moreover, the KPK Supervisory Board has imposed severe ethical sanctions on Lili.

"The decision of the Corruption Eradication Committee has been sanctioned (so, ed) we see that it has been completed. Starting from the Council's decision, we consider Mrs. Lili's case to be finished," Alexander said in a KPK RI YouTube show quoted on Thursday, December 30.

Furthermore, Alexander hopes that similar cases do not happen again. So, the sanctions against Lili must be a lesson.

"I think that for Mrs. Lili herself (the imposition of sanctions, ed) is also a lesson. For what? To improve herself," he said.

Before closing his statement, Alexander advised the public to judge things objectively. He also asked that the KPK leaders continue to be monitored.

In fact, he advised the public not to be afraid to report to the KPK Supervisory Board if they find ethical violations committed by future leaders.

"Please watch over us, help us. Reporting to the KPK Council is not a problem. Friends can monitor the leadership, if there is an error, please report it," said Alexander. Previously, Lili received a severe sanction in the form of cutting her basic salary by 40 percent for 12 months. The reason was that he was proven to have violated ethics after communicating with the party whose case was being handled by the KPK, namely the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial.

Syahrial became a party to the case because at that time investigators were investigating the alleged sale and purchase of positions in the Tanjungbalai City Government. Their meeting started with a flight to Jakarta from Medan.

In addition, Lili also uses her position for her personal interests, namely dealing with the staffing problems of her sister-in-law, Ruri Prihartini Lubis who works at the Regional Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Kualo Tanjungbalai.

Even though she was found guilty of violating ethics, Lili did not once show her remorse. He is also still actively giving speeches at prevention events conducted by the KPK outside the city and even representing the anti-corruption commission in international events some time ago.
