Refuse To Be Transferred, Police Evacuate Patient Suspected Of Infecting Omicron From Green Bay Condo Pluit Apartment Penjaringan

JAKARTA - The police intervened to evacuate patients from the Omicron variant of COVID-19, Tuesday, December 28. The evacuation was carried out by the Green Bay Condo Apartment, Pluit Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

"It is in the process (of evacuation)," said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Guruh Arif Darmawan to VOI, Tuesday, December 28.

The evacuation process was carried out because patients suspected of being exposed to Omicron had refused to be transferred. The plan, the patient will be taken to a place of quarantine.

However, so far it has not been stated clearly about the location of the patient who will undergo quarantine. The Ministry of Health announced that there is currently local transmission of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 transmission in Indonesia.

This local transmission found one case. Thus, currently there are 47 cases of Omicron, with 46 cases being imported and 1 case being local transmission.

"We report that there is one case of local transmission of Omicron Indonesia, so that as of Tuesday, December 28, there were 47 positive confirmed cases of Omicron in Indonesia," said a spokeswoman from the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi in a virtual press conference, Tuesday, December 28.

Nadia revealed that the first case of Omicron local transmission was found in a 37-year-old man who did not have foreign travel.
