JAKARTA - The Bekasi District Attorney's Office, West Java, executed the Segara Makmur Village Head, Tarumajaya District, Agus Sofyan, who was involved in the land mafia case. The defendant was charged with Article 263 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to the 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code with a sentence of imprisonment for two years. "Currently, we have executed the land mafia convict in Class IIA Cikarang Prison in Pasir Tanjung Village, Central Cikarang District," he said.

Taufik explained that the arrest of the land mafia perpetrator was an execution in order to follow up on the judge's decision which had permanent legal force as stated in the Supreme Court's Decision Number 1244 K/Pid/2021 dated December 8, 2021. This case had previously been tried at the Cikarang District Court. The public prosecutor at that time demanded four years in prison but the judge decided that the perpetrator was sentenced to 18 months. His party then made an appeal against the decision in question, but the Bandung High Court instead released the defendant. We believe that according to our analysis, the claim is proven by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia," he said. The decision of the Supreme Court of Indonesia, said Taufik, was to grant the petition for cassation from the Bekasi District Attorney's Office and at the same time annul the decision of the Bandung High Court Number 140/PID/2021/PT.
