Bobby Nasution Orders Unlicensed Building In Medan

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution has instructed regional apparatus organizations (OPD) to control buildings that were built without a building permit (IMB) in this area.

"We have to control this IMB in collaboration between the OPD related to the local sub-district," said Bobby Nasution, in Medan, quoted by Antara, Friday, December 24.

According to Bobby Nasution, regional roles are needed to control buildings without having an IMB, because the Medan City Government targets an increase in local revenue (PAD) next year.

The Medan City Government is optimistic that it targets PAD to be Rp. 1.07 trillion from the total RAPBD of Medan City in 2022 which was approved by the local DPRD of more than Rp. 6.37 trillion.

Bobby Nasution also requested that the owner of the building that will be erected must be accompanied by the installation of an IMB sign in a place that is easily visible according to the shape of the building in Medan City.

"This is one of our efforts to increase PAD so that the Medan City Government can carry out city development, especially realizing the five priority programs," said Bobby.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Medan City Research and Development Agency, Irwan Ritonga, admitted that with the issuance of regional regulations and the Medan mayor's regulation, of course the OPD in charge of IMB will increasingly monitor the enforcement of these regulations.

However, currently found in the field, many community buildings, he said, both houses and shop houses violate regulations, such as not having an IMB or violating the IMB itself.

"Some people don't want to put up a sign at the location or don't have an IMB, because the building is not suitable. Of course this causes a potential leak of Medan City PAD," said Irwan.
