Papuan Police Ready To Hold 11 Operations In 2022

JAYAPURA - Papua Regional Police (Polda) during 2022 are ready to carry out 11 regional operations with various codes and targets.

"It's true that in 2022 there will be 11 operations that are part of the program of the National Police Headquarters as well as the Papuan Police," said Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri, in Jayapura, quoted by Antara, Friday, December 24.

He explained that the number of operations to be carried out in 2022 was reduced, considering that in 2021 there would be 13 police operations being held, including operations in the context of implementing the XX National Sports Week (PON) and XVI National Paralympic Week (Peparnas).

The Papuan Regional Police Chief stated that in principle the operations to be carried out were the same, only that the difference would be sought to directly touch the community so that they could feel the benefits more.

The operations that will be held include the Safe Nusa Operation, Bina Kusuma, Ketupat, Amole, Lilin, and Zebra Operations.

"The Papuan Police will prioritize Binmas with its various programs, so that the impact is truly felt by the community," said Inspector General Fakhiri.

In addition, the Kapolda mentioned the increasing acts of violence from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in several districts, especially those in the mountains.

"In addition, there are still demands from exodus students who are calling for a referendum and an independent Papua as well as the existence of the West Papua National Committee (KNPB) and the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) to fight for an independent Papua," said Police Chief Inspector General Fakhiri.
