SOLO - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka refused when he was escorted by Voojrider. This moment occurred after Gibran attended the inauguration of the future city partnership Grab, Emtek, and Bukalapak at Pendapi Gede Surakarta City Hall, Thursday, December 23.

It is known, Grab provides 400 units of electric motorbikes for GrabBike driver-partners and Grab delivery partners in Solo. It was this motor unit that Gibran tested through the heat of the city of Solo with a batik suit and black pants overalls.

Before leaving, as seen from the Youtube upload of the Surakarta news, Thursday, December 23, Gibran seemed to be getting ready, wearing a helmet and white mask. At the end of the road, two Voojriders were seen getting ready to escort the electric motorcycle to test.

The eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who is sensitive to this, then calls one of his staff and whispers. The staff then trotted over to the two waiting Voojriders.

Sure enough, when Gibran's electric motorbike and his entourage left the event location, the Voojrider who was ready to escort was seen backing his motorbike and letting Gibran's group go.

Refusing to be escorted by a Voojrider was apparently done by Gibran's father, Jokowi when he was the governor of DKI Jakarta in 2012. Jokowi does not want to be overly escorted when visiting the village.

Jokowi's choice was appreciated by the National Police Chief, who was then General Timur Pradopo. According to him, escorting Voojrider on the road is only to ensure the safety of officials while on the road.

In the inauguration of the future city, Grab, Emtek, and Bukalapak are targeting more than 1,500 MSME players. The MSME players who join are expected to be able to reach millions of Grab and Bukalapak consumers throughout Indonesia, as well as open up new income opportunities by owning a digital store.

Gibran appreciated the collaboration between Grab, Emtek, and Bukalapak in presenting the City of the Future program. He emphasized that this program can help MSMEs to advance to class through digitalization facilities.
