CISARUA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy is optimistic that the national vaccination rate will reach 70 percent before closing in 2021.

"According to the President's order, by the end of the year 70 percent of Indonesia must be ready. Just now there were 50 points initiated by the TNI and Polri. I am optimistic that the target from the President can be realized," he said while reviewing security preparations ahead of Christmas and New Year in the Puncak area, Cisarua, Bogor Regency, West Java, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 23.

According to him, this optimistic spirit is based on the fact that the implementation of vaccinations in the field does not have any problems.

"Today, reviewing the vaccination in Cisarua, everything went well, we thank you, for the hard work of the National Police Chief and the TNI Commander and all his staff," said Muhadjir.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in the same place said that although the number of vaccinations for the first dose has reached 72 percent and the second dose 40 percent, his party is still trying to increase the vaccination rate, given the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron.

Sigit ensured that joint officers consisting of the TNI, Polri, and health workers created pospam and service posts to support the strategy of accelerating vaccination in tourist areas during Christmas and New Year.

"We have prepared vaccine outlets in the rest area, we have also prepared pospam. When the PeduliLindung application detects that there are people who have not been vaccinated or have only had one vaccine or have been confirmed positive, we will provide steps," said Sigit.

According to him, several efforts will be made by officers to vaccinate people who travel but have not been vaccinated, and place people who are confirmed positive to isolation after being detected.
