JAKARTA - The Muslim Association of Hajj and Umrah Organizers of the Republic of Indonesia (AMPHURI) has dispatched an Advance Mitigation Team for the Umrah System during a Pandemic to test and learn firsthand the implementation of Umrah with all the health rules and protocols imposed by the Governments of Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.

Firman Muhammad Nur, M.Sc., General Chairperson of the Central Executive Board of the Muslim Association of Hajj and Umrah Organizers of the Republic of Indonesia (DPP AMPHURI) confirmed that his party will dispatch the Umrah System Advance Mitigation Team during the Pandemic Period to Saudi Arabia on Thursday evening, December 23. The departure of the team consisting of cross-associations of Umrah organizers to learn firsthand every stage of the implementation of Umrah with all the rules and health protocols in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Based on the agreement between the Ministry of Religion and the association of Umrah organizers, on Thursday, December 23 tonight, the advance team will fly to Saudi. As many as 25 association representatives are members of the team, five of whom are from AMPHURI," said Firman while accompanying the Umrah Advance Team in Jakarta, Thursday, December 23.
The five people, Firman continued, consisted of Deputy General Chairperson Azhar Ghazali, Deputy Secretary General Rizky Sembada, Head of Haji Ismail Adhan, Deputy Chair of Inter-Institutional Relations Syaiful Bahri and Chairman of the Amphuri Bangkit Cooperative Serving Amaluddin Wahab.
According to Firman, their departure was to carry out a special mission that would test Umrah with various regulations imposed by Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, including system connectivity and technical applications for the implementation of Umrah between the two countries.
"So, if the team's departure is declared successful, then the departure of the PPIU leaders will be continued, which was previously scheduled but postponed due to Indonesian government policies, only then will we be able to dispatch Umrah pilgrims at the beginning of the year," said Firman.

Azhar said that the process and stages that the entire advance team went through began with quarantine and health screening at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Jakarta.
