The Case Of COVID-19 In Batam Has Increased Again By One Person

BATAM - The Batam City, Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force noted that one more residents who were exposed to the Corona Virus in the local area, bringing the total active cases to three people, on Wednesday, December 22.

In a statement shared by Spokesperson for the Batam COVID-19 Task Force, Azril Apriansyah, it was stated that one additional positive confirmation of COVID-19 today is a symptomatic case.

With this, the total positive for COVID-19 is 25,847 people, 25,002 of whom have completed isolation, and 842 people.

"The cure rate is 96.731 percent, the death rate is 3.258 percent, and active cases are 0.012 percent," said the Task Force as reported by Antara.

According to the records of the Task Force, of the three active COVID-19 cases, two of them are being treated at Elisabeth Batam City Hospital and Elisabeth Lubukbaja Hospital. The other is in self-isolation.

The three residents are residents of Batam City and Bengkong, which makes the two sub-districts a yellow zone.

While the other 10 sub-districts are green zones, namely Galang, Bulang, Behindpadang, Sekupang, Lubukbaja, Batuampar, Nongsa, Sei Beduk, Batuaji, and Sagulung.

Mentioned, from 842 cases died in Batam, 433 of them without comorbid, and 409 others with comorbid.

The highest comorbid diseases in COVID-19 death cases were Diabetes Mellitus as many as 216 cases, Hypertension as many as 182 cases, and Pneumonia as many as 104 cases.

Meanwhile, the results of the assessment of the Batam COVID-19 situation are level 1.

It states that the community transmission assessment is level 1 with 5.96 cases of conformation per 100 thousand inhabitants per week, 0.00 hospitalizations per 100 thousand inhabitants per week, and 0.00 deaths. per 100 thousand inhabitants per week.

Then for testing it is considered adequate, with a positivity rate of 0.35 percent per week, tracing is also considered adequate with a close contact ratio of 15.0 per confirmed case per week, and adequate treatment with 0.92 percent BOR per week.

Likewise, vaccination was considered adequate, which reached 101.1 percent of the target population receiving the first dose of vaccine.
