Furniture Employee Kills His Boss's Life Because He Is Not Given A Loan, The Police: The Perpetrators Have A Lot Of Debt

JAKARTA – Feeling hurt because he was not given a loan, a furniture boss in Teluknaga District, Tangerang Regency, was killed by his subordinates. The victim, Asmat Setiawan (61) was killed by the perpetrator, AR (35), using a beam.

According to police statements, the murder took place at a furniture shop owned by Asmat on Jalan Salembaran, Teluknaga, Tangerang Regency. The police also said that AR killed Asmat on Friday, December 10, 2021, at around 09.53 WIB.

The Tangerang Metro Police Chief, Kombes Deonijiu De Fatima, said AR was arrested by joint officers from the Teluknaga Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Tangerang City Metro Police Resmob, and the Jakarta Metro Police Jatanras at his father-in-law's house in the Teluknaga area on Monday, December 20, 2021 night.

"The perpetrator had gone far away, however, within 10 days, the perpetrator was arrested," he said at a press conference at the Tangerang City Metro Police, Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

The police chief explained that the murder began when the victim riding a motorbike came to his shop and rested in a room inside the shop.

"After the victim opened a shop, then he watched TV, the perpetrator followed bringing the beam to the victim's room. The perpetrator swung the block at the victim's body and head," he said.

The police chief said that the perpetrator abused the victim by using a wooden rafter.

"The second block swing was blocked by the victim, but the victim was helpless, the victim fell down, the perpetrator took the next blow," he explained.

After being beaten, said the police chief, the victim died at the scene. Furthermore, the perpetrators stole a motorbike and a bag containing Rp. 30 million belonging to the victim.

The police chief said that the perpetrators and victims were both Teluknaga residents. Both have a relationship between employees and bosses. The motive for the perpetrator to kill the victim was hurt because the money was not lent.

"The perpetrator has worked for a dozen years, indeed he is an employee from the start with his employer. The reason is that the person concerned is hurt, starting from borrowing money, because he has a lot of debt," he concluded.

Now, the perpetrator is in the custody of the Tangerang City Metro Police, and is being charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 365 Paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code on Murder and Theft with Violence.
