The Bodebek Proportional PSBB Is Extended To 31 August

JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil has again extended the proportional Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in Bogor City, Depok, Bekasi, Bogor Regency and Bekasi Regency. Proportional PSBB extension is carried out until 31 August 2020.

This extension was validated in the West Java Governor's Decree (Kepgub) Number 443 / Kep.441-Hukham / 2020 concerning the Fourth Extension of Proportional Implementation of the PSBB in the Bogor, Depok, Bekasi (Bodebek) area.

"The implementation of the PSBB is proportionally adjusted to regional vigilance at the sub-district, village and urban village levels in the form of Micro-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBM)," said Secretary of the West Java COVID-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19, Daud Achmad in a written statement, Tuesday, August 18.

Daud said, the decision to extend the proportional PSBB in Bodebek was in line with the extension of the transitional PSBB in DKI Jakarta which was valid until 27 August.

"The decision is also based on various epidemiological studies," said Daud.

Meanwhile, Deputy Coordinator of the Sub Division of Policy and Epidemiology Studies for the West Java Task Force, Bony Wiem Lestari, said there were a number of factors that were considered by the proportional PSBB extension.

First, the number of positive cases in Bodebek continues to increase. Within one week, 666 new cases were added from the Bodebek area. One of the factors is the emergence of family clusters in the region.

"There are quite a lot of additional cases. So, the effective reproductive rate (Rt) has also increased. Then, there are many office clusters that actually have offices in Jakarta, then transmit to family members who live at home. So household clusters. Yesterday there were quite a lot of cases. , "said Bony.
