TANJUNGPINANG - The Riau Islands Province COVID-19 Task Force has denied reports that 70 people have added active COVID-19 cases. This news was reported by the local cyber media.
Spokesperson for the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Tjetjep Yudiana, said the cyber media had adapted data from official institutions at the national level. However, the data published in the agency, is not true.
"We are still tracing the source of the data which will be published on the agency's official website. We have clarified to the agency to immediately fix it," said the former Head of Health in Tanjungpinang, Antara, Friday, December 17.
Tjetjep said that his party had also requested information from the Riau Islands Health Office, as well as the district and city health offices. As a result, there were no new cases of COVID-19. The actual condition is that there is only one active case in Batam after another patient was declared cured.
"The number of active cases in Riau Islands is only one person, while six other districts and cities have zero active cases," he said.
Tjetjep said Natuna, Anambas and Bintan were designated as Green Zones after successfully maintaining the area with zero active cases for a minimum of four weeks.
In addition to the three districts, Lingga should also survive as a green zone. However, due to an error in entering data, it was finally designated as a yellow zone or low risk of transmission, even though in the district there have been zero active cases of COVID-19 since two months ago.
"The phallus was first a green zone, then a few days ago it suddenly turned into a yellow zone, even though there were no cases of COVID-19 in the area," he said.
