SOLO - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka accompanied by Kodim 0735/Surakarta Commander Lieutenant Colonel Inf Devy Kristiono and Surakarta Police Chief Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak inspected several churches in Solo ahead of this year's Christmas celebrations.

The four churches visited were St Paul Kleco Parish, St Petrus Purwosari, Indonesian Baptist Church (GBI) Penumping, and GKI Kabangan Solo. Gibran in detail saw the preparation of churches, both standard operating procedures (SOPs) for implementing health and safety protocols.

Gibran said the church had prepared everything well, such as preparing Mass cards for its people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This has been going on since the COVID-19 pandemic. What is clear is that the SOP at the St Paul Kleco Parish Church is very strict. I saw that the seat arrangements for the people had signs and a health room was also prepared," Gibran said in Solo, Antara, Thursday, December 16th.

In fact, the church has also prepared streaming facilities for sick people so that they don't have to force themselves to come, just follow the Christmas Eucharist from home.

Talking about security at Christmas celebrations, Gibran said, thanks to the support from the 0735/Surakarta Kodim Commander and the Surakarta Police Chief, it was ensured that everything was safe.

"What is clear is that the SOPs in churches are good and this has been implemented since the COVID-19 pandemic until now so that it can run smoothly," added Gibran.

Gibran said that the PenduliLindung bar code in churches that do not yet exist will be installed as soon as possible. "We make sure that everything is safe, comfortable and that there are almost no additional cases of COVID-19," he said.
