Online Prostitution Pimps In Banyuwangi Arrested

BANYUWANGI - Gambiran Police Team, Banyuwangi, East Java revealed a case of online prostitution. The pimp with the initials MKA (23) was arrested.

Gambiran Police Chief, AKP Setiyo Widodo, said the arrests stemmed from a raid at a hotel, Banyuwangi, Monday, December 13.

The police arrested two people, namely a man with the initials S (34) and a female prostitute with the initials IML (22).

"The police then conducted an interrogation on both of them and it was revealed that the pimp was MKA", said AKP Setiyo, Wednesday, December 15.

Not long after, the police arrested MKA. This pimp admits her actions.

She offers sex workers through the MiChat application. The rate for one date is set at hundreds of thousands of rupiah.

"From the application, she became a liaison between masculine men and prostitutes. She negotiated when she had met the price, immediately executed it", he said.

MKA is currently secured at the Gambiran Police Headquarters. The police also confiscated evidence, including IDR 300 thousand in cash, 3 mobile phones, and a pack of used contraceptives.

"We have arrested the perpetrator and we are still investigating further. The suspect is suspected of being under Article 296 of the Criminal Code and or Article 506 of the Criminal Code", he said.
