PHRI: Domestic Tourists Coming To Bali Reaches 22,000 Per Day

DENPASAR - The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bali recorded an increase in the level of domestic tourist visits to Bali. Per day reached 22 thousand local tourists.

"Currently there has been an increase in tourists coming to Bali from the domestic market, the number has reached 22 thousand per day. Consisting of 12 thousand by air and 10 thousand by land. The Bali Provincial Government is careful with the aim of a bigger destination, namely maintaining the image of Bali and Indonesia in the eyes of the world, especially in the context of G20 2022," said Deputy Chair of the Environmental Culture and Public Relations Division of the Bali PHRI Regional Management Agency, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya, Tuesday, December 14.

Suryawijaya said the government's efforts to revive Bali tourism must be supported by all parties.

"Don't do activities that can damage Bali's image in the eyes of the world," he added.

In this PHRI meeting, the draft proposal regarding the level of foreign tourist arrivals is still zero. The proposal will be submitted to the Bali Provincial Government to be forwarded to the central government.

"We must act, we must not be silent. We must have one voice in submitting proposals to the center, but what we are speaking of is the voice of peace," he said.

For Suryawijaya, the Bali Provincial Government has done a lot to accelerate the recovery of Bali tourism, one of which is vaccination. Meanwhile, measures are currently being formulated to make it easier for foreign tourists to enter Bali.

"We must support and we must do our best to maintain the comfort and conduciveness of Bali," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Bali Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, said that the Bali Provincial Government always works with tourism industry players. Later, it will be discussed about the ease for foreign tourists to enter Bali

"There are three things that are considered obstacles for tourists to enter Bali, namely visa policies, quarantine rules and direct flight conditions. These must be discussed carefully with the central government in order to obtain a solution that benefits all parties," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by the Acting Head of the Badung Regency Tourism Office, Cok Raka Darmawan. He hopes that during Christmas and New Year there will be no restrictions.

"Currently Badung is focusing on fixing tourist destinations. In 2021 Badung has set 6 tourist villages and is currently preparing for the arrangement of Kuta Beach, Tanjung Benoa, and Legian," he said.
