The Police's Response To The Emergence Of The #PercumaAdaPolisi Hashtag: An Honest Expression Of The Community, Input For Improvement

JAKARTA - The National Police responded to the hashtag #PercumaAdaPolisi which went viral on Twitter. The hashtag is considered a constructive criticism of the National Police institution.

"If there are any hashtags, it's all about observing everything, judging everything with a cool and wise head. We consider it to be an honest expression from the community to the Police who people love too, so it's input for the Police to improve according to people's expectations," said Karo Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono told reporters, Tuesday, December 14.

In addition, Rusdi emphasized that the trigger for the emergence of the hashtag #PercumaAdaPolisi because the issue of the rejection of public reports by the Pulogadung Police has also been handled.

Police officers found guilty will be given strict sanctions. In this way, justice can be felt by the whole community.

"All of those cases in Pulogadung have certainly been handled," said Rusdi.

"Members who commit violations will of course be given sanctions, this can be a commitment from the Police to really carry out the duties carried out by members in accordance with the provisions and also in accordance with the expectations of the community," he continued.

However, the details regarding the sanctions against members of the Pulogadung Police who rejected the public's report could not be conveyed in detail. Rusdi said that the sanctions that will be given will be in accordance with the violations committed.
