JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional-Owned Enterprise, PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) is trying to develop a number of new routes to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in order to make it easier for Jakarta residents to access the stadium, which is located in Papanggo, North Jakarta.

In addition, the expansion of the route to JIS is also carried out to support residents using public transportation, given the limited parking capacity available at JIS.

"Currently we have only opened one (route), later we will continue to develop it gradually as people's interest continues to grow, 'demand' will also continue to grow. We will of course open new routes," said the Director of Services and Development of PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) Achmad Izzul Waro in a discussion via Instagram in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, December 12.

Izzul said that currently, TransJakarta had opened a new Harmoni-JIS route.

This new route provides two medium fleets that serve customers and operate Monday to Friday at 06.00-10.00 western Indonesia time and afternoon at 15.00-21.00 western Indonesia time with a fare of Rp3,500 one-way and a travel time of 20 minutes.

The JIS-Harmoni TransJakarta route includes: Halte Harmoni - Juanda Street - Pos Street - Dr. Sutomo Street - Gunung Sahari Street - Angkasa Underpass Street - HBR Motik Street - Danau Sunter Barat Street - JIS.

Izzul hopes that the opening of the new route to JIS can be utilized and has an impact on the achievements of the teams that will compete in the state-of-the-art stadium with a capacity of 82,000 spectators.

"This is a masterpiece to be proud of and we hope that later this can support the achievements of our favorite team, both at the national team and club level," said Izzul.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan invited residents who wanted to come to the Jakarta International Stadium to use public transportation services.

Anies said that although it has a large audience capacity, JIS only provides a small parking space for vehicles.

"This stadium has a capacity of 82 thousand, but the parking space is not 82 thousand. There are very few parking spaces who come there and have to take public transportation," said Anies.
