JAKARTA - The Bali Provincial Civil Service Police Unit reminded nightclub business actors in the local area not to bring in artists to welcome the Christmas and New Year's 2022 holidays.

"There should be no special (event) to invite guest artists to welcome Christmas and New Year this time," said Bali Provincial Satpol PP Head Dewa Nyoman Rai Dharmadi in Denpasar, as reported by Antara, Sunday, December 12.

In addition to asking not to bring in artists, Rai Dharmadi also reminded the limit on the number of visitors to a maximum of 75 percent of capacity and operational time or open a maximum of 01.00 central Indonesia time.

"Firework parties are also not allowed to be held in restaurants, bars, and nightclubs," said the bureaucrat who is also the Acting Head of the Bali Province Kesbangpol Agency.

Regarding these restrictions, Bali's Satpol PP recently gathered as many as 34 nightclubs and restaurant-bar business actors in the Badung Regency, Gianyar Regency, and Denpasar City.

"In the meeting, we shared the perception of the rules for welcoming Christmas and New Year, not to cause new clusters and excessive euphoria, and how to play the rules," he said.

He also reminded business actors to implement the PeduliLindung application and prepare an internal COVID-19 task force that can monitor visitors when they deliberately ignore health protocols and do not keep their distance.

"We and also the Satpol PP in three regencies/cities have agreed to give strict sanctions for business actors who violate a number of provisions," said Rai Dharmadi.

For violations of the light category, he added, the sanction is in the form of an operational pause. Meanwhile, if the violation is serious in the form of temporary to permanent closure.

"We all have to be committed and have an obligation to keep Bali safe from COVID-19 and comfortable as a tourist destination," he said.

In addition, the Balinese people and related stakeholders should be able to provide assurances that in the future Bali will still be able to control COVID-19.

"Not only this Christmas and New Year, nor for the next one, two months, but so on. For 2022, Bali will host international activities of the G20 Presidency which can certainly have a positive impact on Bali's economic growth," said Rai Dharmadi.

His party invites to increase awareness, concern, and consistency of business actors to protect Bali because the shared responsibility to make Bali a safe area is very important to be maintained.
