Student Rape Victims In Bandung Are Rejected To Enter Other Schools Due To Different Curriculum

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Livia Istania Iskandar said a number of female students who were victims of HW's rape were refused to enter other schools on the grounds of different curriculum.

"The latest information we got is that there are schools that refuse because the curriculum is not in accordance with the regular school curriculum and administrative problems and so on," said Livia in a virtual discussion, Sunday, December 12.

Livia said that the difficulties in obtaining the right to education for female students need attention from the government, especially the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil.

"We have conveyed it to Mr. Emil. Sir, please this is your line to make sure and don't let it continue and then we punish these innocent children," said Livia.

Furthermore, Livia also asked for support from the community, which is important so that the victim can continue her normal life. "Stigmatization certainly has a negative impact on victims, this is something we must always avoid," hopes Livia.

For information, the case of the rape of female students began to be revealed since a report was made around May 2021 to the West Java Regional Police. After that, the report is followed up with an investigation and investigation until the case file is complete and transferred to the prosecutor's office.

From this case, it is known that a teacher with the initials HW committed immoral acts on 12 female students. There are even female students who are pregnant and have given birth to several children.

HW is also the owner of one of the Islamic boarding schools in Bandung. He is now a defendant because his case file has been entered in court.
