JAKARTA - Deputy Mayor of Bandung, West Java, Yana Mulyana was appointed to fill the position of Acting Mayor of Bandung after Oded M Danial died. The appointment was based on a letter from the Governor of West Java Number 39/HM.07/Pem.Otda issued December 10, 2021.

According to Yana in Bandung, Saturday, the appointment was made to ensure the continuity of the services of the Bandung City Government. "Until now I am still very sad. I really miss Mang Oded (Oded M Danial's nickname). public services continue to run normally," Yana said, Saturday, December 11. The letter explained that the step was taken based on Article 78 paragraph 2 letter U of Law 23 of 2014 concerning regional governments. which states that the regional head resigns due to death. Another consideration is Article 66 paragraph 1 letter C of Law No. 9 of 2015 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government. In the article it is stated that the deputy regional head has the task of carrying out the duties and authorities of the regional head if the regional head is serving a sentence or temporarily absent. Related to this, Yana asked all Bandung City Government Civil Servants (ASN) to continue to carry out their duties and authorities as usual.
