Train Driver In Pakistan: Stops The Train, Assistant Gets Off Buy Yoghurt, Returns To Train And Continues Travel

JAKARTA - This is not a joke or a comedy trailer. But the true story of what happened in Pakistan. A train driver stops his train in order to buy yogurt.

This incident occurred on Monday, December 6 yesterday. The train was carrying passengers from the northern city of Lahore to the southern metropolis of Karachi.

But only 18 km away, Rana Mohammad the driver stopped the locomotive at the Kahna railway station. The goal, to buy yogurt.

Then not long after, the assistant driver got off the train and walked over to get yogurt from a nearby kiosk. Not long after, he was again walking towards the train bringing the plastic.

He walked leisurely. Without running or appearing in a hurry.

This action clearly made the passengers furious.

"Look at how handsome he is. He has stopped the train right in the middle and bought yogurt," said the man who shot the video, referring to Iftikhar Hussain, the assistant driver.

Rana Mohammad and Iftikhar Hussain were immediately suspended, as reported by The Independent, Thursday 9 December.

“When you stop a train in the middle of the tracks, it becomes a safety issue. Security is our priority. We cannot tolerate anything that endangers the safety," said Syed Ijaz-ul-Hassan Shah, spokesman for the railway ministry.

The Minister of Railways, Azam Khan Swati, warned that he would not allow anyone to use the national asset for personal use.

Investigate a calibaration, a railway official in Pakistan said that an incident like this is not something out of the ordinary.
