Said Aqil: The NU Congress In Lampung Will Still Be Held 23-25 December

JAKARTA - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board has decided that the 34th NU Congress in Lampung Province will still be held on December 23-25, 2021.

PBNU General Chair Kiai Said Aqil Siroj said the decision was based on the decision of the NU Grand Conference (Konbes) in Jakarta on September 26, 2021.

"In connection with the policy of withdrawing the implementation of PPKM level 3, related to the prevention and control of COVID-19, during the Christmas and New Year 2022 period, PBNU hereby notifies that the holding of the 34th Congress is entirely as determined by the NU Grand Conference on September 26, 2021," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 7.

There is also the time for the implementation, continued Said Aqil, namely on 18-20 Jumadil Ula 1443 Hijri or 23-25 December 2021 in Lampung.

The decision was signed by Rais Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Akhyar, Katib Aam PBNU KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, Chairman of PBNU KH Said Aqil Siroj, and Secretary-General H Ahmad Helmy Faishal Zaini.

Meanwhile, Kiai Miftachul Akhyar expressed his gratitude. He said after each party did ijtihad but finally met.

The meeting was aimed at benefiting the Nahdlatul Ulama and Nahdlatul Ulama so that the founders of NU were happy to see the PBNU administrators when the mandate was carried out.

“Thank God for this abundant gift. With the ikhbar that has been conveyed regarding the implementation of the congress which will be held on December 23-25, 2021, I think everything has been completed," said Kiai Miftah.

Previously, Helmy Faishal said NU continues to be a unifying pillar of the nation, the main support for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, the protector of the people and the nation.

Therefore, NU is committed to continuing to keep it at the forefront of being the best example for building ukhuwah Islamiyah, wathaniyah, basyariyah, especially ukhuwah Nahdliyah.

"Allow the discussion results from Rais Aam, Katib Aam, General Chairman, Secretary General, Kiai, and community members to deliver an ikhbar so that the discourse of the congress back and forth is finished," said the Secretary General.

The meeting was attended by PBNU's Katib Aam KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, Chairman of the SC NU Congress Muhammad Nuh, and Chairman of OC NU Congress Kiai Imam Aziz.

Also present were the Heads of Tanfidziyah and Rais Syuriyah of PWNU throughout Indonesia, the ranks of the daily board, and Tanfidziyah of PBNU, as well as NU autonomous institutions and bodies at the central level.
