A Brawl Between Two Groups Of Teenagers On The Border Of Cempaka Putih And Johar Baru, Attacking Each Other With Sajam

JAKARTA - Two youth groups were involved in a brawl along Jalan Pangkalan Asem, bordering the Johar Baru and Cempaka Putih areas, Central Jakarta.

The brawl lasted for several minutes, after which the police patrol officers from the two areas managed to disperse them.

The two groups of youths armed with various sharp weapons (sajam), bamboo and blunt objects were seen attacking each other along the road. This citizen brawl was also recorded by an amateur video belonging to a resident which was then uploaded to Instagram social media.

The Head of Johar Baru Police, Kompol Edison, confirmed that there was a brawl between groups of residents. However, the police chief confirmed that the brawl took place in the border area between Johar Baru and Cempaka Putih.

"It (brawl) at the border. There have been no reports of victims, because last night the police were immediately dispersed," said Commissioner Edison when contacted by VOI, Monday, December 6.

Although handled by two regions, the case is currently still under investigation by the Johar Baru Police.

"The case is under investigation by the Johar Baru Police. Currently there are no reports from members," he said.

The police chief admitted that there had been attacks between the two groups involved in the brawl. Although it did not last long, the brawl did last.

"There has been a brawl and then it was disbanded. Currently, no one has been arrested," said the police chief.
