Idang Rasjidi In Memories Of Dewa Bujana

JAKARTA - The legendary jazz musician Idang Rasjidi or Chaidar Rasjidi is buried in Block A15, TPU Kampung Kandang, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. A number of the country's top musicians were also present to release the late Idang.

One of those present was musician Dewa Bujana. According to Dewa Bujana, he has his own memories with the late Idang during his lifetime.

"I just came to Jakarta with a band from 1986 to 1991. I played together. There's a lot that I can learn," Dewa Bujana told reporters after the funeral procession at the Kampung Kandang TPU, South Jakarta, Sunday, December 5.

He received news that Idang Rasjidi had died from Shadu, the son of the late Idang.

"Last night at half past twelve he sent a message, because he had an appointment from me earlier. He (Idang's son) at half past 12 said papah had gone, uncle. I announced it in other groups too," said Dewa Bujana.

Dewa Bujana said the late Idang had last seen him before the COVID-19 pandemic. Even so, Dewa said he still had frequent contact with the deceased via cell phone.

"Lastly, three weeks ago I was from America, I asked how I was doing. I asked how I was doing, because it's always been like that. Because usually Mas Idang always talks about health and what conditions," he said.

As is known, Idang Rasjidi experienced complications from diabetes mellitus, gout, kidney, back calcification, lack of albumin, and protein.

Idang had received intensive care at the Azra Hospital, Bogor, West Java. Idang Rasjidi died at the age of 63 on Saturday, December 4, the night.
