Ngeyel Attends 212 Reunion, Police Threats Action Participants With Article 212 Of The Criminal Code, Sentenced 1 Year 4 Months In Prison

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya stated that parties who continue to insist on attending the 212 reunion can be punished by using multiple layers of articles. In fact, in the regulation the threat of punishment is 1 year and 4 months in prison.

"Even if there are certain groups who still insist on carrying out these activities, criminal sanctions will be imposed, namely articles 212 to 218 of the Criminal Code. This article carries a threat of 1 year and 4 months," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters , Thursday December 2nd.

However, the application of criminal sanctions, said Zulpan, is the last step. This is because the police will first ask the crowd to disperse.

"Of course, we don't expect that the police will take action. We hope that with humane steps, persuasive actions, we appeal to the public," said Zulpan.

Of course, this appeal is related to the condition of Jakarta which is still hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. So, if you continue to take action, the potential for transmission will be even greater

"It is for the benefit of the people and society, especially in DKI Jakarta," said Zulpan. For information, the 212 Reunion committee decided to carry out its activities in two locations, namely, the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Central Jakarta and the Az-Zikra Mosque, Sentul, West Java.

The 212 reunion which will take place at the Horse Statue will start from 08.00 WIB to 11.00 WIB. There, the speeches will be filled later.

Then, activities at the Az Zikra Mosque will start at 13.00 WIB. Later it will be filled with dhikr together.
