Selection Committee For 21 Candidates For Members Of The Central Information Commission

JAKARTA - The Head of the Selection Committee (Pansel) of the Central Information Commission (KI) Usman Kansong said his party was selecting the names of 21 candidates for KI members for the 2021-2025 period to be sent to the DPR.

"A total of 21 candidates will be selected from 36 candidates who have gone through the interview stage," said Usman, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 1.

According to the stages, said Usman, the Pansel will select 21 candidates who will be sent to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology. The name is then sent to the President, then the President will send it to Commission I of the DPR to conduct a compliance and feasibility test.

"The DPR then chose seven names to be handed back to the President and a presidential decision was made," said the Director General of Information and Public Communication at the Ministry of Communication and Information.

Usman said that his party could not confirm whether the announcement of the 21 candidates was by the Pansel or submitted to the DPR to announce them.

"We are still holding a meeting to determine the mechanism for the announcement of the names," he said.

Previously, Commission I of the DPR asked the Central Information Commission Pansel to conduct it openly, honestly and objectively.

"Commission I asked the Central KI Pansel for the period 2021-2025 to carry out all the processes in the selection of Central KI members, starting from administration to determining the names of the 21 candidates. This is so that it can be done openly, honestly, and objectively," said the Deputy Chair. DPR Commission I Abdul Kharis Almasyhari in a hearing (RDP) with the Central KI Pansel some time ago.

Meanwhile, the Central KI Pansel for the period 2021-2025 works in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Number 405 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for Recruitment of Candidates for Central KI Members for the period of 2021-2025.
