KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri Confused Corruptors: Many Arrests, OTT There, But Corruption Still Exists

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri said that the prosecution of corruption perpetrators continues to this day. However, he could not understand why corruption still continues to occur in the country.

"KPK is really concentrating on eradicating corruption, so that when we were inaugurated, I and other leaders made arrangements, we evaluated, there have been many arrests, OTT exists but corruption still exists. Then where should we do it," he said. Firli in the National Seminar: Risk-Based Licensing Transformation in the Mining Sector which was broadcast on KPK RI YouTube, Wednesday, December 1.

Although he was surprised and questioned this condition, Firli admitted that his party had prepared three strategies to eradicate corruption. One of them is trying to educate the public and continue to do prevention.

The former Deputy for Enforcement of the Corruption Eradication Commission said that anti-corruption education to the public is important. The reason is, in this way, anti-corruption values can be instilled into society.

"Finally, the KPK has determined three strategies to eradicate corruption, including today's activities, namely public education and prevention of corruption," said Firli. secondly, because through education we will instill anti-corruption values. With public education, we will build the character of an anti-corruption culture," he added.

Through these various approaches, the KPK hopes that there will be no more corrupt behavior in Indonesia. Moreover, the character and culture of anti-corruption has been embedded in the community.

"With these characters, an anti-corruption culture will arise and this anti-corruption culture will turn into an anti-corruption civilization," he concluded.
