'When Imposed, We Think It's Criminal', Polda Metro Jaya Asserted To The 212 Reunion Party Who Insisted On Taking Action

JAKARTA - The police have confirmed that they will prosecute those who insist on attending and holding the 212 reunion. The reason is that the activity was not licensed.

"If you are forced to carry out activities (reunion 212), then, we will apply the applicable legal provisions. If you force it, we will suspect a criminal act," said Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Wednesday, November 1.

Zulpan said, those who still choose to hold or be involved in the reunion will be charged with layered articles. Among them are Article 212 to Article 218.

"If we insist, we will suspect criminal acts 212 and 218 of the Criminal Code, which do not take this into account," said Zulpan.

On the other hand, Zulpan said the reason for not allowing the activity was because the event invited a crowd. Moreover, the activity did not receive a recommendation from the COVID-19 Task Force.

"Polda Metro Jaya will not give permission to activities that are crowd-creating, namely for something that goes against the rules of health procedures or activities related to COVID-19," said Zulpan.

"Where we are not allowed to gather in large numbers, which of course has been determined. The Polda Metro Jaya is to maintain order based on the prevailing laws and regulations for the benefit of the community," he continued.

For information, the 212 reunion action committee has again changed the plan. The 212 reunion will take place in two locations, namely at the Horse Statue of Arjuna Wiwaha, Central Jakarta and the Az Zikra Mosque, Sentul, West Java.

"It's true, as has been said," said the 212 reunion committee, Eka Jaya, to VOI, Tuesday, November 30.

The 212 reunion which will take place at the Horse Statue will start at 08.00 WIB until 11.00 WIB. There, will be filled with orations.

Then, activities at the Az Zikra Mosque will start at 13.00 WIB. Later it will be filled with dhikr together.

"It's just that not all of Sentul (the masses participate) because it's also limited there," he said.
