300 Joint Troops Escort Munarman's Trial, Even Though Held Online

JAKARTA - A total of 300 joint personnel from the TNI-Polri and the Provincial Government (Pemprov) were deployed to oversee the trial of the alleged terrorist case with the accused former FPI secretary, Munarman. This tight control is given even if the trial is held online.

"There is around 300 personnel from the combined Polda, and Polres, TNI, Satpol PP, and Dishub," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Erwin Kurniawan to reporters, Wednesday, December 1.

Erwin said, the deployment of personnel at the East Jakarta District Court was carried out to prevent things that were not desirable. Although, the defendant Munarman was not presented in person.

"The trial was held online, because only court equipment was present. Meanwhile, the defendants were in their respective detention centers," Erwin briefly said.

The East Jakarta District Court held the first trial of the alleged terrorism case. Where, Munarman is a defendant in the case.

It is planned that the trial will take place at around 09.00 western Indonesia time. The trial will have an agenda for reading the indictment from the public prosecutor (JPU).

East Jakarta District Court Public Relations Officer Alex Adam Faisal stated that Munarman's trial was held online. Thus, it will not interfere with other trials.

"Online trial," Alex curtly said.
