Police Response To Viral Video Polantas Asks For Durian To Replace Tickets To Truck Driver

JAKARTA - The National Police are still tracking the viral video of the traffic police (Polantas) asking for durians as a substitute for a ticket on social media to truck drivers.

"We are still investigating. This is still unclear," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Tuesday, November 30.

He said, if the search found evidence that what was viral on social media was true, then his party would take a stand. Because the Police will not tolerate members who make mistakes.

"Police officers who make mistakes will be dealt with. Obviously, yes," said Ramadhan.

Thus, he asked all parties to be patient while waiting for the results of their investigation. "We will inform you after being investigated," he said. Likewise regarding the sanctions that will be given, they are still waiting for the results of the examination. "Every member of the police who commits a violation will risk punishment according to his actions," said Ramadhan.

This incident was discovered after a video of a truck driver recording a police requesting durian went viral on social media. Where after giving durian the driver was not ticketed by Polantas.

The video of the police asking for durian to the driver carrying the durian load was uploaded by the Instagram account @andreli_48 which launched from the Facebook account @Alan. "Remember the onion the day after tomorrow, this time it's durian," wrote andreli_48.
