212 Reunion Moves To Sentul, Police Say No Permit

JAKARTA - The 212 reunion action was decided to move from the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue to the Az-Zikra Mosque, Sentul, West Java. However, the National Police stated that the crowd permit regarding the event had not yet been issued.

"So far we have not received any information about it (the crowd permit)," said Head of the National Police's Penum Section, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Tuesday, November 30.

Ramadhan emphasized, wherever the activity is held, it must meet the licensing requirements. Especially permits issued by the police.

"Of course (using a permit). We want to ask first whether the notification has been received by the local police, and of course the police will see what activities are being carried out," said Ramadhan.

"The activity carried out is where the place is, of course it will be studied first. Then after that an analysis is carried out, whether a crowd permit is given, we will tell you later," he continued.

It was previously reported that the 212 Reunion, which was planned to be held at the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, was canceled. Because the committee decided to hold an online or virtual reunion.

"That's right (the 212 reunion is virtual)," said the Chairperson of the 212 Reunion Committee, Eka Jaya.

In addition, the 212 reunion activity, said Eka, will change its location to the Az-Zikra Mosque, Sentul, Bogor. Later, the series of activities will only be filled with collective remembrance.

"We, the shura council, have agreed that we will hold it in Az-Zikra, we do remembrance, munajab is not really the point, there are no political speeches and so on," said Eka.
