Deputy Governor Riza: DKI Wants Higher 2022 UMP, Up 14 Percent

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said the DKI Provincial Government wants workers in the capital city to get a higher 2022 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) as in 2016 which at that time reached 14.81 percent. there is especially PP Number 36 of 2021, so we are forced to follow the existing rules," said Riza Patria after attending the educational seminar "The Fatwa Center" in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Tuesday, November 30. Previously, DKI Governor Anies Baswedan sent a letter to the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziah on November 22, 2022 who proposed that there be a review of the formula for determining the UMP. In the letter, the average increase in the UMP for DKI Jakarta in the 2016-2021 period uses the formula PP No. 78 of 2015. In 2016, the UMP reached Rp3 1.1 million with an increase of 14.81 percent, then in 2017 the amount of the UMP reached Rp. 3,355,750 with an increase of 8.25 percent.

Furthermore, in 2018 the amount of the UMP reached IDR 3,648.035,820 with an increase of 8.71 percent, in 2019 the amount of the UMP reached IDR 3,940,973,096 with an increase of 8.03 percent. Then in 2020 the amount of the UMP reached IDR 4,276,349,906 with an increase of 8 .51 percent and in 2021 the UMP amount will reach Rp4,416,186,548 with an increase of 3.27 percent. The average increase in UMP during 2016-2021 will reach 8.60 percent. Meanwhile, in 2022, the UMP will use the formula PP Number 36 Year 2021 reached IDR 4,453,935,536 or an increase of 0.85 percent. "For that we have sent a letter, Mr. Governor to the Minister of Manpower (Manpower) so that there is a revision and review regarding the formula, method of remuneration for workers. Hopefully in time soon there will be a policy that we hope can increase the sense of justice for workers, entrepreneurs, the provincial government and the community," he said.
