JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police (Polda) held a coordination meeting with the West Java Police and Military Area Command III (Kodam) Siliwangi in the context of securing the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year holidays.

As a result of the meeting, it was agreed that security should be carried out in locations that are prone to crowds. Some of them, places of worship to tourist attractions.

"The targets will mainly be places of worship, shopping centers or crowds, and tourist attractions," said Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Commissioner E. Zulpan to reporters, Tuesday, November 30.

Not only security, in the meeting it was also decided that later the joint National Armed Forces (TNI)-National Police (Polri) team would always appeal to the public. Especially to prevent the potential spread of the new variant of COVID-19, the Omicron type.

"So the community is expected to anticipate that there will be no surge in COVID-19 wave 3 and we also anticipate that the new Omicron COVID-19 variant, which is now in Africa, does not enter our territory because of the crowd," said Zulpan.

In addition, said Zulpan, the pattern of securing the Christmas and New Year holidays is also in accordance with government instructions.

"We have agreed that in this case the Polda and Kodam will carry out government instructions in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 62 of 2021 regarding the implementation of Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM)," said Zulpan.
