Some Are Busy List Of KPU And Bawaslu Commissioners, Cases Of MS Victims Of Harassment At KPI Abandoned

JAKARTA - Still remember the case of bullying and sexual harassment of employees of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) that occurred in his office. Currently, the case experienced by the MS victim is still hanging without clarity at the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

Police investigators have not arrested the alleged sexual abuse and harassment. Currently, the victim MS only hopes that the KPI leadership can immediately implement the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM). This was conveyed by MS through his attorney Muhammad Mualimin.

"I hope that Komnas HAM's recommendations will be implemented immediately and the KPI leadership elements will comply without any reason," Mualimin told reporters, Tuesday, November 30.

The Komnas HAM investigation found that MS was bullied and sexually harassed in his office. This happens because KPI is considered to have failed to create a healthy, safe and comfortable work environment.

Komnas HAM also submitted recommendations to the KPI commissioners to be able to provide support to MS both morally and through policy mechanisms in the context of victim recovery.

KPI commissioners are also asked to take firm action and impose sanctions on employees found guilty. However, Mualimin is worried that the KPI commissioner will not implement the Komnas HAM recommendation.

"Considering that the two KPI commissioners are busy registering as commissioners for the RI KPU and the RI Bawaslu. We are afraid that the KPI leaders will not focus or be busy jumping from positions to other institutions before the end of their positions," said Mualimin.

Mualimin also hopes that in the next few days Komnas HAM will be able to monitor whether its recommendations have been implemented by the KPI Commissioner.

"If KPI leadership elements who have been convicted of violating human rights do not comply with the recommendations, Komnas HAM should write to the Indonesian Attorney General's Office to start an investigation and bring anyone in KPI's internal responsibility to the Human Rights Court," he said.
