Makassar Mayor Responsible For Medical Expenses For Student Victims Of Conflict

MAKASSAR - Mayor of Makassar Moh Ramdhan Pomanto (Danny Pomanto) is ready to bear all medical expenses for two students who were victims of clashes between students from Luwu and Bone Regencies, South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi).

"We all sympathize with the incident, and I, as the mayor, am also the brother of the brothers and sisters in the Luwu and Bone regional organizations. Almost everyone from the organs in South Sulawesi is close to me, so we sympathize," said Danny Pomanto when visiting the two victims. , at a hospital in Makassar quoted by Antara, Monday, November 29.

He said the two victims of the dispute were under medical treatment at different hospitals, one being treated at the Pelamonia Army Hospital (RSAD), and the other at Wahidin Sudiro Husodo Hospital on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan.

Danny Pomanto said that the dispute between students had a bad impact, and the trigger he also called a trivial problem.

He also asked all students who were in conflict or others to remain calm in their thoughts, find a way out and together maintain the peace of the city.

"So I tried to find out what the root of the problem was, so I communicated with the leadership of the UIM campus to discuss and find out the root of the problem," he said.

According to him, things like this are sometimes just trivial things, because they are brought by race, they can be used as firewood, especially when someone stirs up violent content.

"Yesterday I said, don't post hoaxes, meet on the street, it's all provoking people," continued Danny Pomanto.

Danny said, as the person in charge in Makassar City, he wanted to bear all the medical expenses for both of them.

"Without reducing my respect to the Luwu and Bone Regency Governments, let the Makassar City Government bear all the medical costs, the important thing is to get well first," he said.
