President Jokowi Reminds Korpri Members To Give Best Service, Appreciate Those Who Work At The Border

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reminded members of the Indonesian Civil Service Corps (Korpri) to always provide the best service for the community.

"On this auspicious occasion I convey several things that can be guided. First, every member of Korpri in various positions must have the same basic value, namely providing the best service for the community," said President Jokowi through a video that was accessed in Jakarta, Monday, 29 November.

President Jokowi conveyed this at the peak of the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Korpri in 2021.

"Stick to the 'core values' of the state civil apparatus, service-oriented, accountable, competent, harmonious, loyal, adaptive and collaborative," added the President.

President Jokowi's second message is for Korpri to make breakthroughs and innovations in a sustainable manner.

"Change the 'mindset' of ways of thinking and working, avoiding inefficiency, complexity, only problems that cannot be solved by one sector alone," said the President.

For this reason, every service, ministry, and institution is asked to collaborate across organizations, across regions, across sciences, across professions and implement "e-government" to increase the speed and credibility of services.

"Third, build and strengthen the integrity of the apparatus, create a more transparent and accountable bureaucracy. Don't make it difficult, take illegal levies and burden the community," said the President.

The President asked Korpri members to build a government that is clean and free from corruption, collusion and nepotism.

"Fourth, strengthen the role of brothers and sisters as the glue of national unity and integrity. Protect the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Pancasila, the Constitution and Bhineka Tunggal Ika," said the President.

The trick is to establish strong cooperation with all components of the nation to jointly realize an advanced Indonesia.

President Jokowi also appreciated the performance of all Korpri members, especially those on duty at the border, in remote places, on the outer islands of Indonesia.

"I wish Korpri a happy 50th birthday. I appreciate Korpri's dedication and hard work in serving the community and running the government," said the President.

According to President Jokowi, Korpri members scattered throughout the country have become a node of unity, a node of national unity and manifest the presence of the state to provide services to people in all corners of the country.

"The dedication given by each member of Korpri to the nation and state cannot be stopped. People's expectations are getting higher, the challenges of change are more complex. New challenges can arise unexpectedly, either because of technological developments or because of disasters and pandemics," explained the President.

Facing all challenges, President Jokowi requested that Korpri must continue to transform, strengthen its attitude of service, become a servant of the community, become a servant of the state.

"Continue to innovate and develop new, more efficient ways of working. Continue to adapt to the development of science and technology, provide solutions quickly and accurately so that the community will feel its presence," added the President.

Each member of Korpri is also asked to be at the forefront of bureaucratic reform, cutting regulations that hinder services and simplifying the organization.

"So that it moves more agilely and leaves the ego-sectoral barriers and makes complicated procedures simple and makes slow ones go fast," said the President.

Furthermore, Korpri can also take advantage of technological advances as well as possible.

"The realization of one data and electronic-based government must be accelerated, the realization of a lean organization and superior human resources must be accelerated so that every member of Korpri is more responsive and innovative and able to provide services to the community quickly, efficiently and effectively," said the President.
