There Will Be New Suspects, Bareskrim Tomorrow Will Check Brigadier General Prasetyo

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri investigators have examined five witnesses in the case of the issuance of the Djoko Tjandra road letter. Two of the five witnesses were questioned at the Kalimantan Regional Police.

Karo Penmas of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said the investigation of the five people was to complete the case title files for the determination of a new suspect in this case.

"Monday, August 10, 2020, investigators conducted additional examinations on five witnesses," Awi told the media crew, Jakarta, Monday, August 10.

In addition, investigators will also examine Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo, Tuesday, August 11. The examination of Prasetyo is also to complete the case file. The title of the case to determine the new suspect will be held on Wednesday, August 12.

"Investigators will carry out additional examinations of the BJPU suspect and one witness," he said.

Previously, investigators would soon determine a new suspect in the case of the issuance of a pass in the name of Djoko Tjandra. The determination of the suspect will be carried out at the case title which will be held on Wednesday, August 12.

"Investigators have planned to carry out a case title to determine a new suspect in the case of Djoko Tjandra's fake pass," said Awi.

In this case, Bareskrim Polri has named two suspects. They are Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo and Anita Kolopaking.

Based on evidence and witnesses, Brigadier General Prasetyo is the publisher of the travel document. Thus, he was removed from his position as Head of Coordination and Supervision (Karo Korwas) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit and named a suspect.

Prasetyo was charged with Article 263 paragraph 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code and Article 426 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code and or Article 221 paragraph 1-2 of the Criminal Code. Article 263 of the Criminal Code regulates the making of fake letters.

Meanwhile, Anita Kolopaking is considered as Djoko Tjandra's right hand man in the processing of the pass. So, based on witness testimony and evidence, Anita was also named a suspect for allegedly committing crimes Article 263 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code and 223 of the Criminal Code.
