JAKARTA - Floods that hit Tanjungbalai City, North Sumatra are still inundating a number of points. BPBD Tanjungbalai City reported that there were five sub-districts that were still flooded.

The locations include Sijambi Village, Pahang Village, Gading Village which is located in Datuk Bandar District, and Bunga Tanjung Village in Datuk Bandar Timur District.

The BNPB Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) reported the latest conditions as of Saturday, November 26 at 14.00 WIB, observed in Datuk Bandar District the water level was between 10 - 20 centimeters.

At least there are still 45 units of residents' houses that are still submerged in the flood. This figure is smaller than the previous 50 housing units that were submerged.

Some residents still choose to stay in their homes. Meanwhile, it was also reported that education and health facilities in the area were not disturbed. Efforts to deal with the affected residents are still being carried out with the assistance of a joint team and the community.

Referring to the BMKG weather forecast in the Tanjungbalai City area for the next 3 days (28/11), there is the potential for light to moderate rain. Seeing this condition, BNPB urges the public to remain vigilant and increase preparedness, especially with the risk of the threat of the La Nina phenomenon.

One of the preventive and anticipatory steps that can be taken is to ensure that drainage can function optimally.
