PKS: Congratulations To The Indonesian People, The Government Must Stop The Implementation Of The Job Creation Law

JAKARTA - The PKS faction of the DPR RI congratulates the Indonesian people on the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which states that the formation of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation is contrary to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. The Court called the Omnibus Law or the unconstitutional Job Creation Act. Conditional.

"Congratulations to the Constitutional Court, congratulations to all Indonesians on this decision. We hope that the government will return to policies that are truly pro-people and pro-national," said PKS faction chairman Jazuli Juwaini, Friday, November 26.

The member of Commission I of the DPR hopes that the government will comply with other points of the Constitutional Court's decision to suspend all strategic actions or policies that have a broad impact. It is also not allowed to issue new implementers related to the Job Creation Act.

"I think the message is clear, the implementation of the Job Creation Law must be stopped first regarding strategic policies in various fields based on the principle of the public benefit," said Jazuli.

Jazuli added that even though the Constitutional Court had declared the Job Creation Law to be conditionally unconstitutional or unconstitutional as long as it was not corrected by the legislators, the decision had to be interpreted wisely by the government as the initiator and implementer. That, said Jazuli, as a whole the law is flawed and problematic.

In addition, he added, what is fundamental is harming the interests of the wider community such as workers, farmers, fishermen, people with disabilities and others.

Therefore, Jazuli reminded the Constitutional Court's decision that the Job Creation Law must be revised within two years, otherwise it will become permanently unconstitutional.

"In this case, the government and the DPR must capture a substantial message outside the formal formation that this law is problematic and does not side with the people. So, if improvements are made, the message of partiality must be clear," he said.

The Banten constituency legislator assessed that the Constitutional Court's decision fulfilled a sense of justice and answered the public's anxiety about the enactment of the Job Creation Law.

"For the same reason, the PKS faction unanimously rejected the law when it was ratified in the DPR," said Jazuli.
