Police Hunt For Sadistic Murderers Under Palembang Ampera Bridge

PALEMBANG - The General Criminal Investigation Team of the South Sumatra Police is hunting for the perpetrators of the sadistic murder that took place under the Ampera Bridge, Tengkuruk Permai Street, Palembang City, South Sumatra.

Head of Sub Directorate 3 Jatanras Ditreskrimum South Sumatera Police, Commissioner of Police CS Panjaitan said his team would accompany the Satreskrim Palembang City Police to arrest the perpetrators of the murder in order to create security and public order.

"Currently, the identity of the perpetrator has been pocketed by officers. Jatanras will accompany the Palembang Police Satreskrim," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 25.

There is also the murder victim named M Toni (29), a resident of DI Panjaitan Street Old Alley RT 091/003, Bagus Kuning Village, Plaju District who works as a public transportation driver (angkot).

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Palembang City Police, Commissioner of Police Tri Wahyudi, said the victim died after being stabbed with a sharp weapon by a man suspected of being none other than a fellow angkot driver.

"The stabbing occurred while the victim was waiting for passengers at the public transportation base in front of the fountain under the Ampera bridge on Wednesday at around 18.30 western Indonesia time," he said.

According to him, after carrying out the attack the perpetrator immediately fled. Then the victim who was covered in blood and immediately rushed to the Bhayangkara M Hasan hospital.

"The victim was taken to the AK Gani Hospital which is not far from the crime scene by his colleagues. The dead victims were then escorted by officers to the Bhayangkara Hospital for an external observation process," he said.

As a result of the attack, the victim died from a sharp weapon stab wound to the head, stab wounds to the left chest, back, and under the left ear.

Meanwhile, witness Rizal (37), said the characteristics of the perpetrator were about 170 cm when he stabbed the perpetrator with another person waiting on a black Vixion motorbike.

“Before the incident, the perpetrator approached the victim and asked him to watch single-organ entertainment. I, who was near the victim, heard this and immediately walked away from them. Then suddenly the victim screamed for help and was covered in blood," he said.
