BOGOR - The Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force canceled the plan to apply odd-even vehicle number plates to limit the mobility of residents ahead of the Christmas and New Year's 2022 holidays by implementing health protocols and requiring proof of vaccinations while on vacation.

"So, residents are welcome to travel in Bogor City, but make sure you have been vaccinated," said Head of the Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force who is also Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto during a press conference at Bogor City Hall, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 25.

Bima emphasized that residents of Bogor City and surrounding areas may visit their area provided they are able to show evidence of having been vaccinated, in the form of a QR barcode for the Cares for Protection Application or physical evidence in the form of a printed certificate.

Residents who have not been vaccinated, he said, are not allowed to leave the area around the house for any reason to visit each other or travel, including for people with congenital or comorbid diseases, small children, and others.

Bima conveyed that the COVID-19 Task Force provided a solution for residents who had not been vaccinated to still be able to travel, namely registering to carry out vaccinations.

"So if you haven't been vaccinated, you want to travel in Bogor City, please get vaccinated first. We will prepare vaccine centers," said Bima.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chair of the Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force who is also the Head of Bogor City Police, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro, said that the cancellation of the restriction on residents' mobility through the odd-even application was replaced by the application of sanctions for residents who had not vaccinated.

The intended sanction is to take the residents to vaccination centers that have been prepared by the Bogor City Health Office (Dinkes).

There are five checkpoints imposed by the Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force, namely for pedestrians, who are exercising in public places, including cycling on the one-way system (SSA) road.

"We emphasize strict procedures, so if we stop, park, and get off the vehicle in public places or tourist attractions, we will ask pedestrians for proof of the vaccine, otherwise we can't," he explained.

Previously, the Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force considered implementing restrictions on the mobility of residents by applying odd-even vehicle number plates after there was a school cluster with 24 positive COVID-19 people without symptoms.
