SURABAYA - The team from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the East Java Police arrested NS alias Mami Ambar who sold 29 women in Lumajang. This human trafficking case has been going on for the last two years.

"This incident was revealed on November 16, 2021 at 00.30 WIB at Wisma Penantian, Suko Hamlet, Sumbersuko Village, Sumbersuko Subdistrict, Lumajang Regency. The person concerned was arrested after a report from one of the victims who managed to escape and reported it to the police," said the Head of the Division. East Java Police Public Relations Commissioner Gatot Repli Handoko at the East Java Police Headquarters, Surabaya, Thursday, November 25.

During the investigation, the perpetrator admitted that he had been doing this for two years at the guesthouse. The action was carried out by offering a job in Bali for a fee of Rp. 5 million to Rp. 15 million through social media Facebook.

Currently there are 29 people who are tempted to join the details of 23 adult women and six underage women.

"The payment for him to commit immoral acts is only Rp. 200 thousand. In total there are 29 women who are accommodated, on average they come from Bandung, Lampung, Jakarta and several other areas," he said.

In the action, based on the reporter's testimony, there was no threat given by the suspect. However, they were promised to be given a job as a ladies companion (LC) in Bali. "Operating for two years, no one has been sent to Bali. In fact, they are employed as prostitutes," he said.

During this arrest, the police secured several pieces of evidence consisting of Rp. 5,670,000 in cash, a guest book, a box of contraceptives, 10 used contraceptives, four sex lubricants, six legalized family cards belonging to minors and a car. .

For his treatment, the suspect is subject to a criminal penalty of Article 2 in conjunction with Article 17 and/or Article 12 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Criminal Act of Trafficking in Persons with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and a fine of Rp.600 million.
