PAL Indonesia Completes KRI Cakra-401 Dive Trial

SURABAYA - PT PAL Indonesia has completed the trial dive of KRI Cakra-401 in Panarukan, Situbondo, East Java, by showing satisfactory results, namely diving up to 200 meters.

"As a defense system with a strategic mission, KRI Cakra-401 has reached its maximum speed above and below the water surface, and judging by its functions and diving capabilities, it has shown satisfactory results with dives of up to 200 meters," said Project Manager (PM) KRI Cakra. -401 Marine Colonel (T) Wiranto in a written statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 24.

He said the test activities in the series of carrying out overhaul (OVH) of submarines in the ranks of the Indonesian Navy were carried out by Commodore Inspection on KRI Cakra-401 in Panarukan, led by Waasops Kasal, Admiral TNI Wasis Priyono.

After carrying out a series of trials (HAT & SAT), a Commodore Inspection was carried out in order to review the suitability and feasibility of the results of the OVH or a thorough repair of the KRI Cakra-401 submarine as mandated in the contract.

The Commander of the Task Force (DanSatgas) Marine Colonel (P) Indra Agus Wijaya said that previously separate tests had been carried out on the entire pipeline system and main valves of the ship with a pressure of 32-50 bar.

"For information, 1 bar is equivalent to water pressure as deep as 10 meters, so it is concluded that the system is capable of receiving pressures up to more than 300 meters," he said.

Meanwhile, the Commodore Inspection this time was attended by stakeholders, namely TNI Admiral Didik Rochmad Widodo as Dirdalprogal Directorate General of Defense Ministry of Defense as a representative of the Head of the Defense Ministry's Baranahan Headquarters, TNI Admiral Dono Herbowo (Waaskomlek Kasal), TNI Admiral Maman Rohman (Kadisadal), Admiral TNI Wayan Maradhana (Kadismatal).

During the OVH process, there were many improvements to the electrical, mechanical and navigational systems. There are also improvements to the sensor system, integration, torpedo fire control, and efforts to achieve maximum performance.

"The achievement of OVH KRI Cakra is very proud, where there is high confidence to reach a depth of more than 200 meters," said TNI Admiral Wasis Priyono as chairman of the Commodore Inspection Team.

The series of Commodore Inspection activities lasted for two days, with the support of the support ship KRI Diponegoro-365, and the activities ended with the signing of the Commodore Inspection minutes by high-ranking officers.
