Central Java Holds National Mural Contest With The Theme Of Central Java Infrastructure Development

SEMARANG - Dozens of mural artists from various regions competed in a national level competition organized by the Public Works Department of Highways and Human Settlements of Central Java Province. They came from Central Java, Yogyakarta and East Java.

Since the morning, Wednesday 24 November, the participants immediately began to mix paint and then painted on the wall that has been provided by the committee to become a mural. There are about 29 speace walls, where each participating team gets a space of about 3 x 3 meters.

The competition in the framework of the 2021 Public Works Service Day has the theme "Proud of Own Country's Infrastructure". And, the participating teams explored works with the object of infrastructure development in Central Java.

Arum, one of the participants from Yogyakarta, was very happy to take part in the mural competition this time. he and his two companions will lift the object of the rescue path.

"This is to measure our ability, this is at the national level," he said.

In preparation, his team did not take long. Only determine the object according to the theme, agreement on the concept of work and technical equipment.

"For the preparation, it's just paint. This time we are carrying the semi-realist concept," he continued.

He hopes that such activities can continue to be implemented and improved. Both in terms of quality and quantity of participants.

"Hopefully there will be more competitions and more people," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Works Department of Highways and Human Settlements of Central Java Province, Hanung said that this activity was in the context of the 76th Anniversary of Public Works.

"The mural competition to see Central Java's infrastructure, we recorded both Central Java and the ministry," he said.

It is hoped that with the competition, it can socialize infrastructure development programs that have been carried out well. And, at the same time invites the community to feel they have the existing infrastructure.

"The hope is to move people to feel ownership," he added.

However, his party is very open and transparent for participants who express criticism through their mural works.

"We are very open. We can criticize, please. This is for the good of the future," he said.
