Domino Effect From Celebration At Mandalika Circuit, Money Turnover Reaches Tens Of Billions

JAKARTA - The Asian Talent Cup (IATC) and World Superbike (WSBK) events at the Mandalika Circuit created an extraordinary dominance effect. The Department of Cooperatives and MSMEs in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara said the circulation of money reached more than IDR 10 billion.

"The impact is that tens of billions of money are circulating the Kuta area of the Mandalika Circuit WSBK", said Head of the Central Lombok Cooperatives and MSMEs Agency, Ikhsan di Praya, Tuesday, November 23.

The 202I Mandalika Circuit WSBK event can encourage MSME economic growth in Central Lombok in particular. In addition, it has also provided economic opportunities for other service actors such as hotels, restaurants, and stalls in the Mandalika SEZ area.

"This is the beginning of the revival of UMK actors in Central Lombok. In the future, it will certainly be better, especially with the upcoming 2022 MotoGP event. This means that there are around tens of billions of money in the WSBK event", he said.

Previously, the number of outlets that will be prepared for Central Lombok MSME actors is around 50 outlets and the size is quite large.

The MSME outlets that have been prepared are located in the West Parking area as many as 20 units and in the parking area on the east side of the Mandalika Circuit as many as 20 units.

"10 more units are prepared in the circuit area. So the total booths prepared are 50 units for Central Lombok SMEs", he said.

He said, of the 600 MSME products that participated in the merchandise curation for MotoGP or WSBK, around 300 products passed the curation, be it processed foods, weaving crafts, and ketak crafts as well as other culinary foods.

"Those who pass the curation by the provisions of the MGPA or the central government", he said.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that currently, the Mandalika tourist destination was in the spotlight both from greetings and abroad. This happened after the international motorcycle racing event cited by world racers namely World Superbike (WSBK) took place in the area.

Furthermore, Luhut said, Mandalika was not as popular as other tourist destinations. In fact, Mandalika is included in the list of five super-priority tourist destinations developed by the government.

"Currently, the name Mandalika is being talked about throughout the country and even abroad because of the roar of the engines of motorbikes racing at this circuit", he said.

Luhut admitted to directly reviewing the Mandalika Circuit, in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to ensure and see firsthand the racing event which was held at the circuit with a total length of 4.3 km and has 17 bends.

"It is a matter of pride when we see that this circuit has been successfully built, tested, and carried out by all the organizers", he explained.
