The MPR Annual Session And Report Will Be Held Online

JAKARTA - Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo said the leadership of the MPR would publish the annual report of the leadership of state institutions to the public online. This will be carried out at the MPR RI Annual Session on 14 August.

"The leadership of the MPR will publish the annual report of the leadership of state institutions to the public. We will use trending technology such as Youtube, streaming video in a mobile format," said Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) as quoted by Antara, Friday, August 7.

According to him, submission of annual reports published online is common, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Without prejudice to the substance of the performance report of state institutions, it can be conveyed directly to the public.

"After the implementation of the MPR RI Annual Session, his party will come and ask the leadership of state institutions to read the performance report to be recorded. This recording will be published online by the MPR RI," he said.

Bamsoet added, the President would also do a similar thing in delivering his state speech at the MPR Annual Session. This is because it does not allow each head of state institutions to submit their performance reports directly at the MPR Annual Session.

"We want the leaders of other state institutions to provide their reports to the public. State institutions that have not submitted them to the MPR Annual Session will be submitted by 'mobile'," he said.

Bambang Soesatyo, said that the MPR Annual Session on August 14 would be held simply because the Covid-19 pandemic situation was still hitting Indonesia.

"The 2020 MPR Annual Session will take place in the same manner as the Indonesian Independence Day celebrations on August 17," he added.

He explained that the series of Annual Sessions would be held in two stages in the morning and afternoon. The morning with the MPR as the host was the president's speech delivering the performance report of state institutions. "Then continued with the DPR's agenda."

Apart from President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, a number of heads of state institutions, TNI commanders, and the head of the Indonesian Police will also attend the MPR Annual Session. Meanwhile, leaders of other state institutions and members of factions will be present virtually.
