Riots In Buton Burn Houses And Vehicles, The Current Situation Is Conducive

KENDARI - Buton Police Chief AKBP Gunarko said that currently the situation in Lasalimu Pantai Village, South Lasalimu District, Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, is starting to become conducive, after riots occurred with the burning of houses and vehicles.

"Thank God I'm at the location now, the situation is under control, the community has withdrawn," said AKBP Gunarko, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 22 night.

On Monday night at around 19.30 WITA there was a riot in Lasalimu Pantai Village, South Lasalimu District, Buton Regency.

According to information gathered, the riot was triggered by a land dispute decision at the Pasarwajo District Court, Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.

The impact of the riots resulted in the mass burning of two units of residents' houses and seven units of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. Not only that, one unit of a four-wheeled vehicle also did not escape the tantrums of the masses.

Related to this, the Buton Police are currently on standby at the scene and are asking for help from Brimob Batauga to anticipate the possibility of further riots.

"Later we will ask for help from Brimob Batauga, a company and also we at the Resort Police have around 50 personnel. The situation is currently under control," said AKBP Gunarko.

The riot with the burning of houses and a number of vehicles was recorded by other residents who witnessed the incident and is currently spreading on social media.
