JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria ensured that he never gave special directions regarding the formation of a cyber army (Cyber Army) by the DKI Jakarta MUI to protect ulama and Anies Baswedan from buzzer attacks.

Riza assessed that the purpose of the DKI Jakarta MUI was to form a cyber army to ward off hoaxes and become the right and authority of every organization.

"There is no specific direction (about the cyber army), we respect all of them," said Riza at the Jakarta City Hall, Monday, November 22, quoted from Antara.

In this regard, at this time, said Riza, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the DKI Jakarta area are still struggling against the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Don't let there be problems with information interference that is not good, let's unite together to pay attention to one nation's unity to collaborate against the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.

According to Riza, each organization has its own authority in accordance with the Articles of Association/Budgets (AD/ART), so the Deputy Governor of DKI invites MUI DKI to form a cyber army if the idea has a positive impact.

According to Riza, the idea of forming a cyber force by the DKI Jakarta MUI is part of the times, so that many citizens can access information through their gadgets.

Through this cyber troop, Riza hopes to be able to help monitor any information circulating on the internet so that residents don't get false news, as well as provide education to sort out information.

"It is the right of each of us to form a cyber army in all organizations. The important thing is that we are all in the digital era, in the reform era, don't spread hoaxes, use social media wisely, and respect each other, respect, every time there is information, please re-examine it, and the public should not until easily provoked," said Riza.

The Central MUI through the Deputy Chairperson of the Infokom Commission, Ismail Fahmi, immediately clarified information that the DKI Jakarta MUI had formed a social media team that was ready to defend Governor Anies Baswedan.

Ismail immediately communicated with MUI DKI after this issue became a public discussion. Ismail said that the Jakarta MUI social media team was not meant to ward off the buzzer attack that attacked Anies Baswedan on digital platforms.

"There is no plan to build a buzzer. It is impossible for MUI, both central and regional, to form a buzzer team. What we are building is a digital mujahid," Fahmi told VOI, Monday, November 22.

For Ismail, the digital mujahid formed by MUI began with workshops conducted in almost all provinces in Indonesia. In the workshop, MUI collaborated with Infokom staff, which consisted of young people, to create positive da'wah content about the teachings of Islam.

"What we build are young people who become regional MUI Infokoms, we teach journalism, photography, video, the direction of which is to create positive, moderate, intermediate, and interesting da'wah content," said Fahmi.

"Our direction is to preach, not the buzzer, not defending this, defending it. In accordance with the line of interest of KH Miftahul Akhyar (General Chair of MUI), we embrace, not beat. The buzzer hits, we don't," he continued.
